This time will be different. That’s what I said. Different is not always better or easy. But I have used my time well trying to get the balance right. I made an important discovery -again. I am a speaker not a writer. I like doing my radio show and teleseminars more than I like blogging. They are easier and more fun for me.

Doing what I’m good at.

So here is what I have been doing. My next teleseminar is – “Know where you are going – do better planning!” It is Tuesday, May 4th at 8pm EST. This is an open Smart Office
Strategies Sample Membership Call. This is going to be a fast, content full call. Be sure to be prepared to take notes. Call: 1-517-417-5200, Code: 18253# It’s not to late to tell a friend. And don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter and the May 11th teleseminar at www.smartofficestraegies.com.

I will tell you more about how to increase your successes on multiple fronts next time. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know?

If you had family or friends over during the holiday, you probably have leftovers. The easiest way to use them is in soups or salads. The good news is that both of these add vegetables, fiber and water. This makes these very healthy choices. It is also a chance to try new recipes like turkey chili or a stir fry.

Or Freezer

Don’t forget about your freezer. This is an easy way to have measured portions on hand for those times when you don’t want to cook. Soups freeze easily. And don’t forget you can freeze desserts too. Freeze those last pieces of cake in individual sizes. Then when you want a little something, you don’t have to buy anything.

Soup, salad, a new recipe or freezer are all good health strategies for leftovers. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.

During a discussion on meal planning, it came out that take-out is many times the default solution to a meal. Guess what? If you do your planning in advance, this doesn’t have to be the worst choice. Besides total depravity never works.

Some strategies

We all have favorite take-out. So here is how to make it healthier:
• Look for good choices at each of your favorite places. Put together a healthier meal. That could be extra vegetables in your Chinese’s food or scooping out some of the bread from your hoagie roll.
• Add bulk so you eat less. That could be as simple as a salad with your pizza. My favorite is to put half of a meal on a bed of greens. Kale is my favorite. It tastes and looks great.
• Eat it as a side dish and not the main dish.

The main point is you can incorporate occasional take-out as part of a healthy lifestyle if you plan. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.

Having an off day happens to all of us. What separates those that are successful from those that are not? It is how quickly you can pick yourself up and get moving again.

What’s in your toolbox?

Everybody needs to have their own toolbox of strategies to shorten these down periods. Mine include:

1.	Giving myself permission to be out of it with a time limit.

2.	A change of pace like going out with friends. For those of us that work at home, this can be just the thing.

3.	Going for a walk. Fresh air and sun can do you a world of good.

4.	Finding something that makes you laugh. Find a joke site before you need it. You might like YouTube videos.

5.	Play with a child or puppy. They are in the moment and don’t care about your problems.

6.	Do an unexpected good deed.

You get the idea. Step away from what ever is getting you down. Take time for a little enjoyment. Put things in perspective. As a friend of mine said tonight, do you think the ladies on the Titanic regretted not eating dessert!
