Is the cure for a scarcity mindset
Over the last week, I have been busy helping my daughter collect clothes for Haiti. It has continued to make me feel grateful for all I have. As I looked through my clothes, I didn’t realize how many clothes I had. Not just outerwear but pj’s, bras and shoes. Then there were the tee shirts from both my husband & me. As I went through clothes, I kept asking myself, how many of these do I really need? Would giving this make someone else’s life easier?
What I got in exchange
Aside from the most wonderful feeling, I also gained several unexpected benefits. For starters, I gained at least 3 empty shelves in the closet and decluttering didn’t end there. I also discovered that many of the spring & summer clothes I had were too big. (I’m doing the happy dance!) Asking the same questions, I gave the big winter clothes to the Goodwill. I think I have greatly decreased my scarcity mindset – the one that rears its ugly head when I am stressed. Most importantly, I realize that I can make a difference in the world.
I’ve learned abundance is a choice. What healthy choice will you make today? Let me know.
