What are the ingredients?
I was watching a dog training CD. It said 1st exercise, 2nd discipline and 3rd affection = a balanced life for a dog. I started thinking; maybe it would work for humans as well.
How does this relate to us?
I’m not going to take this too far, but it made me think. Exercise for dogs is supposed to help them prevent and work off pent up frustrations. Don’t you think the same is true for us? Especially if we have been using food to work off frustration. Exercise will not only work off calories, but works on your well-being.
Discipline is training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces moral or mental improvement. That’s a mouthful. And isn’t that what we humans are trying to do – improve? We are trying to find structures and systems that will give us the results we are looking for in an easy and repeatable manner. So I say this is a keeper.
We all need affection and connection. A smile or a hug can change your day around. Now I know we need a lot more than just these 3 things. But I think we would all have a more balanced life if we had these ingredients in our everyday living.
Let’s start with exercise. Take yourself for a walk everyday with or with out a dog. What can you do today to improve your health? Let me know.
